Lunch With My Lover

Pictures Taken With My Tripod

When: Friday, January 27, 2012

Where: I was off work, so I met Matt for lunch and then picked our son up from school.  Who knows what the rest of the day will bring?

What:  Dress - Merona; Cardigan - Mossimo; Tights - Kmart; Boots - Simple; Necklace - Belterra Boutique; Bracelet - Gift; Earrings - Gift; Belt - Mossimo

Did anyone else notice the cat in the previous pic?  Maybe it's because I'm home more than ever, but Cleo has been especially needed lately...  Oh well.  Back to the post.  This is a tshirt dress I bought for our trip to Jamaica this past summer.  It's so comfy and I grab for it all the time.  It may be a little short - but I don't feel so self-conscious about it when I have the tights on.

Matt bought me this sweater for Christmas.  It's the Boyfriend Sweater from my Wish List!  Him and his mom bought me so many things from the list for the holidays - it was awesome!  I'm thinking I'll have to make wish lists more often!!! I have a few more things I haven't posted about that are from the list - so I'll be getting to those soon!

The necklace I purchased from a small fashion boutique in Belterra Casino.  It's one of those places where everything is $10.  I instantly fell in love with this piece and I wear it with many different things.  The earrings were a gift from a co-worker at my old job.  It was one of those things where she bought them for herself, wore them, and decided she didn't like them that much.  Her loss is my gain!!  She did that a couple times, like with this grey sweater.  The bracelet is a gift from my Momma.  If you read my blog regularly, you've definitely seen it before.  Love this piece.  Same with the Simple boots.  Another favorite item of mine.  They're old but they are awesome.  The belt is from a dress that Matt gave me for Christmas (another wish list item).  I haven't worn the dress yet, but I plan on it soon!

How cool is it that I could meet my husband for lunch?!?!  We had Indian food - it's one of our favorite ethnic foods to eat.  YUM!  I was glad I could help him by making him take his lunch and get out of the office (something he doesn't always do).  I was sad when we had to leave and go our separate ways though...  Oh well.  I was able to post this blog to make the time go by, waiting for him to come home!

Still Here

Pictures taken by my tripod

When:  Monday, January 23, 2012

What: Top - Forever 21 +; Sweater - Sonama; Skinny Jeans - Lane Bryant; Scarf - Lane Bryant; Sweater Boots - Sketchers; Bracelet - Mizoutlet.com

Where:  Off work today, so I cleaned up the house, did some grocery shopping, started dinner in the crock pot and of course, homework time with my son.

I'm alive!  I'm here!  I've just been a bad little blogger....  I started my new job a few weeks ago and it's been keeping me busy and engaged most days of the week (even when I'm off work...  SHEESH!)  But yes, I'm still here.  I have made a renewed contract with myself to blog more often.  I really appreciate all the messages and comments you all have left in my absence!  You rock!

Onto the outfit details.  Since it's an off day and I was simply running errands and cleaning around the house, I went for something casual.  Some of you might have noticed...  This is the striped shirt I had on my Christmas Wish List!  My mother-in-law gave it to me!  I really love it!  I don't love that it's supposed to be hand wash only...  Pain!

Do you guys know about Miz Outlet?  They sell costume jewelry at an unbelievable price!  Now, yeah, it's not the best stuff, but for the money, I have enjoyed every piece I have ever bought from them.  (Also - spend $20 and you get free shipping!)  Miz Outlet is where I purchased this bracelet.  I bought the CHI variety.  This scarf I purchased from Lane Bryant a few years back.  It was my first fashion scarf purchase and I still love it.  And because it's January (almost over though!!!) I wore my sweater boots.  They are just too easy to pull on and because of this I wear them often.

Sorry again for being so absent...  I promise do to better.  I started a "to-do" list for my days off, and I have placed blogging on there too!  I really did miss it too - it's just one of those things that got away from me somehow...  (Also - Pinterest has been taking up all my time lately!  I'm officially addicted!  Follow me (Luckeysgoods)!

In other news - I LOVE MY NEW JOB!  Nursing school was not an easy thing to complete, but it was well worth it!

Hope you all have a great week!

New Glasses

YAY!  They came in yesterday!  My new glasses!  I am so stoked!  Can't you tell with all my exclamation points!!!????!!!!  (HA!)

I went out on a limb and ordered glasses online.  After reading so many good reviews from different sources, I decided to try glassesusa.com.  Oh man am I glad I did!  I love them so much.  Not only was the website super easy to use (they have a virtual "mirror" to try glasses on), but their customer service was awesome!  (I have a weird prescription as one eye is near sighted and the other is far sighted and they worked with me right away to get it all straightened out because the website wouldn't except my crazy prescription.)

I definitely suggest following them on facebook, as I ended up with a buy one get one free code.  Heck yeah TWO new pairs of glasses!

First pair - iSee 724 in brown.

Second pair - iSee 026 in black.

Excuse the photo quality.  They were taken with my iPhone.

Can't wait to pick outfits to wear with them!

fatale fashion inspiration

Pictures Taken by My Tripod

When:  Tuesday, December 13, 2011

What:  Dress - Sealed With A Kiss Designs; Cardigan - Sonama; Havana Belt - Sealed With A Kiss Designs; Tights - Merona; Booties - Sonama; Charm Necklace - Things Remembered; Long Beaded Necklace - ??; Bracelet - ??

Where:  Work, home to help with my son's homework and then I was going to help my soon-to-be-bride friend with her centerpieces this evening, but she canceled.  So I ended up working on my blog and chillin'.

Today's post is special because it is my very first inspirational-look post!  I follow Ariana from fatale fashion.  I always enjoy her outfits.  She posted this outfit on Monday and I thought - Oh my gosh!  Not only is this super cute, but I can actually do it, almost exactly!!  And the rest is history.  This was actually a super easy way to get dressed this morning, as Ariana did most of the work for me!  All I had to do was grab my things and go!  So, what do you think?  Doesn't she look great?  How did I do?

I did do things slightly different.  I wanted to wear my brown havana belt (she did a black belt, black textured tights, and black boots).  I thought this would be a good opportunity to wear my new maroon tights from Target too.  Note about the Target tights...  I don't really like them.  I feel like I am entirely too tall for these tights (though I do fit in the sizing spectrum).  Looks like I really do need to break down and just go ahead and put an order into welovecolors.  But, the Target ones will do for now.  Since I was wearing my brown havana belt, I went with brown boots too!

I put on my brown and teal bracelet my mom bought me a while ago.  I love the color combination of brown and teal!  The necklace was a gift from my parents.  They gave it to me this past Friday when we went out to dinner to celebrate my passing of the Ohio RN NCLEX exam.  I LOVE IT so much!  It has the nursing symbol on one side and the other has "2011" with a little graduation cap on the numbers.  It also has two little charms, a "J" and an "M" for Justine Meyer (me - heehee) with a little pearl detail.  This is definitely something I'll be wearing a lot!  Ariana's look even inspired me to break out my old glasses!  I cannot lie - I pretty much copied her entire look I loved it so much!

And what a fun dress this is!  I love the fullness of the skirt!  And the material is so soft...  I could feel myself all day (HA)!

A little note about the name of my blog, Luckey's Goods.  Yes, I know how to spell lucky correctly...  Luckey is my maiden name!  And I thought Luckey's Goods sounded better than Meyer's Goods.  Now you know!

Yeah... It's Wintertime

Pictures Taken by My Tripod

When: Thursday, December 8, 2011

What:  Poncho - Love Your Size, Love your Style; Long-sleeve Tee - Merona; Jeggings - Lane Bryant; Sweater Boots - Sketchers; Ring - Premier Design; Watch Cuff - Lane Bryant

Where:  Work, home and doing homework with my son, working on my blog, and dinner out to our favorite Chinese spot.

Oh man!  Is it getting cold here or what?!  I know it will only get colder (ugh) but I am already over it!  My bed felt so warm this morning...  Getting out from under the covers was the last thing I wanted to do!  So to stay comfy and warm as much as possible today, I opted for a casual look of a sweater poncho, jeggings, and my sweater boots.

The watch is a gift I received from a friend quite a few years ago.  We're talking before my son was even thought of old...  But I have always liked it and thought it would be a nice minimal accessory to go with my casual look.  (Psst - the batteries were dead!  I didn't realize this till around lunch time.  I looked at my watch and though huh, that secondhand isn't ticking...)  The ring is another Premier Design piece from the party I had a few years back.  I especially like this ring right now because it reminds me of the Aztec designs that are really in style right now.  Another outfit with my sweater boots - how could I not?  These are perfect to wear on a chilly day!

I ended up putting my hair in pigtails right before I stepped out of the house this morning.  I tried to wear it down, but I couldn't get it to work right.  Wait - what's that you say?  Didn't I just get it trimmed the day before and I thought you loved it?  YES!  That hasn't changed!  She washed it that evening when I had it cut, and I avoid washing my hair on consecutive days almost religiously.  But this morning I was realizing I must have slept on it weird cause I didn't like it so I put it up.

So I'm 30...  Is 30 too old for pigtails?  (Obviously I don't think so.  Especially when I'm doing a comfy-casual outfit day!)

Turkey Day

Photos Taken by Matt M.

When:  Thursday, November 24, 2011 (THANKSGIVING!)

What:  Brown short sleeve cardigan; Brown Cami; Green & Brown Love Your Size, Love Your Style silky skirt; Brown SWAK Havana belt; Brown tights; Brown heels; Gold, Copper & Brown beaded necklace; Silver & Orange bracelet; Brown & Silver cuff watch.

Where:  Thanksgiving at the in-laws!

This year we went to Matt's parents for Thanksgiving.  We always do an every-other year thing with Thanksgiving and Easter, as we have found this is the easiest way to keep everyone mostly happy!  (The hardest part is remembering where we were the year before which usually means we are searching old emails to help determine!)  Diane, my mother-in-law made dinner this year and it was absolutely delicious!  Oh my gosh - I ate so much that about an hour after dinner I had fallen asleep on Matt's shoulder while sitting on the couch!  My favorite parts of dinner was corn pudding and the sweet potatoes (guess that's a little bit of the old vegetarian coming out in me?)  I MUST get her recipe for corn pudding.  Matt told me it's actually an old recipe that has been passed down his Dad's side of the family - so I'll definitely have to keep that tradition going!

This skirt I just recently purchased online from Kmart's Love Your Style, Love Your Size collection.  You can get one too here (and it's on sale for $9.99 right now!  HECK YEAH!)  It's an absolutely great skirt and I would highly recommend it!  The belt came from Sealed with a Kiss Designs (here).  That website has many things I would love to own, but at the moment my budget doesn't really allow me to buy much more.  My shoes are actually from Payless and are probably about 8 years old!  I have had them forever and because they are some of my favorite I don't wear them too often as I want them to last as long as possible!  I'm not exactly sure where the necklace came from one...  But it's another oldie but goodie of mine.

It was a wonderful day and I truly am grateful to have such awesome in-laws - all of them, from my new parents to Matt's aunts, uncles, and cousins!  I hope everyone had such a great day too!

Black & Brown - OH MY!

Photos Taken by My Tripod
When:  Monday, November 21, 2011

What:  Black & Brown printed shirt dress; Brown long sleeve t-shirt; Brown tights; Black knee-high boots; Amber & Silver turtle necklace.

Where:  Work, dinner out with the boys, and Ronnie's 2nd-grade conferences at school.

For my first "official" & "true" outfit post I went with the sometimes forbidden black and brown combo.  (I know I'm such a rebel...  Or am I?)  If you talk to my fashionably challenged husband (love you hon), yes, I am making a total mistake with my color choices here.  Yet when browsing blogs and stores one will find quite the mix of one complete outfit that boasts both black and brown, at the SAME TIME!

As you can see I am no longer in my living room.  I was actually trying to muster up the courage all day to head outside to take my pics, but the rain kept me inside!

This turtle necklace was actually my very first ebay purchase many, many, many years ago.  It's one of my most cherished pieces (my son's nickname is Turtle) and I get compliments on it all the time.

When I think about it, this dress is very old.  I'm thinking it was at least 3 to 4 years when I bought this at Lane Bryant?  It's actually a dress that I didn't wear too often when I first purchased it.  But this past 6 months or so I have been wearing the heck out of it.

Finally, THESE BOOTS!  Obviously I'm a plus size girl...  Finding boots that fit up to my knees, around my big 'ole calves is pretty much impossible...  Then one day returning boots that didn't fit around my calves, I found these!  I purchased them from Kohl's earlier in the Fall.  When I got them, they were 40% off PLUS I used a 30% discount coupon (I love Kohls - I shop there a lot as you'll come to notice).  They are made by Trusol Tara.  They are really comfortable and are super easy to slip on and off.  I wish they were leather....  But I didn't really pay a leather price, so I can't complain too much.

So there we go.  My "first" official fashion post to my new blog!  How did I do?  I am thinking the more I do this, the better I'll get...  I hope so anyway!

And if anyone was wondering, Ronnie's school conference went well yesterday!  Gotta work on a few things, but nothing too major!

The Sun Comes Out

My first few posts are going to be mini posts. I will be sharing what the Internet already knows, my pics from Chictopia. In the future, I will be giving a much more detailed look at the clothes I am wearing for the day.

What: Turquoise beaded tunic; Brown cardigan; Navy jeggings; Animal print belt; Bronze heels; Bronze bag.

Where: Work and more homework... (My life is FULL of fun at the moment...)

I. Love. Jeggings. There I said it. I was so nervous about buying them and actually wearing them! I have found with the right top (just long enough to cover the bum) I feel really comfortable and stylish. This is another easy-breezy outfit! And I also like my added touch of the oh-so-trendy animal print!

This was my second attempt at this dress, this time with tights. I am (again) wearing a green cardigan but this one is much shorter. I LOVE this outfit. One of my favorites! It's just a fun look! Can't you tell how happy I am in the pic?

What: Deep Purple jersey dress; Brown Havana belt; Brown tights; Brown backed-lace boots; Green necklace; Silver cuff.

Where: I wore this cute outfit to my Grandfather's wedding reception. A while back him and his new wife were married out of town so they had a get together for everyone in town once they got back.

This is one of my favorite outfits. The colors, the belt, the boots, the necklace. I love it all! Not only is it stylish, but the dress and boots are ultra comfortable, making it oh so easy to wear!

What:  Purple banded t-shirt; Brown pointelle vest; Blue flare denim jeans; Brown ankle boots with buckle: Silver multi-strand necklace.

Where:  Work and then home to do homework with my 7 year old (it's kind of crazy how much homework this second grader has compared to when I was in second grade) and then my study time for the state boards.

My first attempt at the tripod....  Awful lighting...  Bad angle...  But hey - it's my first time!  It can only get better right?!?
