Lunch With My Lover

Pictures Taken With My Tripod

When: Friday, January 27, 2012

Where: I was off work, so I met Matt for lunch and then picked our son up from school.  Who knows what the rest of the day will bring?

What:  Dress - Merona; Cardigan - Mossimo; Tights - Kmart; Boots - Simple; Necklace - Belterra Boutique; Bracelet - Gift; Earrings - Gift; Belt - Mossimo

Did anyone else notice the cat in the previous pic?  Maybe it's because I'm home more than ever, but Cleo has been especially needed lately...  Oh well.  Back to the post.  This is a tshirt dress I bought for our trip to Jamaica this past summer.  It's so comfy and I grab for it all the time.  It may be a little short - but I don't feel so self-conscious about it when I have the tights on.

Matt bought me this sweater for Christmas.  It's the Boyfriend Sweater from my Wish List!  Him and his mom bought me so many things from the list for the holidays - it was awesome!  I'm thinking I'll have to make wish lists more often!!! I have a few more things I haven't posted about that are from the list - so I'll be getting to those soon!

The necklace I purchased from a small fashion boutique in Belterra Casino.  It's one of those places where everything is $10.  I instantly fell in love with this piece and I wear it with many different things.  The earrings were a gift from a co-worker at my old job.  It was one of those things where she bought them for herself, wore them, and decided she didn't like them that much.  Her loss is my gain!!  She did that a couple times, like with this grey sweater.  The bracelet is a gift from my Momma.  If you read my blog regularly, you've definitely seen it before.  Love this piece.  Same with the Simple boots.  Another favorite item of mine.  They're old but they are awesome.  The belt is from a dress that Matt gave me for Christmas (another wish list item).  I haven't worn the dress yet, but I plan on it soon!

How cool is it that I could meet my husband for lunch?!?!  We had Indian food - it's one of our favorite ethnic foods to eat.  YUM!  I was glad I could help him by making him take his lunch and get out of the office (something he doesn't always do).  I was sad when we had to leave and go our separate ways though...  Oh well.  I was able to post this blog to make the time go by, waiting for him to come home!

RN Attire

So as I mentioned before, I came home and took some pictures in my uniform for fun.  Heehee - I know...  Not very fashionable...  But I wanted to do something different for a minute (and show off my cool nursing digs).

What:  Scrub top and bottom - Landau; Watch - Casio; Shoes - Nike; Socks - ??

Where:  Work at my new job!

All RNs at my hospital wear navy scrubs.  It's an easy way for patients to identify who is who on the unit as other staff and personal wear different colors depending on their job title.  Since there isn't much else to say about navy blue scrubs I'll go onto the accessories.

My semi-new Casio watch!  I loved the color and I liked how it was made of a soft and comfortable plastic and I don't have to worry about water when washing my hands all day long.  I also liked it cause I could use military time (the standard in medicine).  My shoes are the same tennis shoes I've been wearing since my nursing school clinicals.  They still are in great shape and they treat my feet quite nicely when I'm on them all day.

Nurses wear uniforms.  It's kind of boring obviously...  So it seems many nurses like to add a little personality with their socks!  I personally own only 4 pairs of white socks while the rest have various patterns and colors.  I was made for the fun sock band wagon and I've been kicking it the entire time!  I love these argyle ones!  And finally, I had to take a picture of my pockets.  I picked out these particular scrubs because they have this little pen/pencil/highlighter holder.  I love it!  No more fishing for my pen at the bottom of my already stuffed pockets!

Well, there you have it!  Scrubs #1.  I have another, completely different pair (still navy blue obviously).  They are actually a little more stylish (which meant they cost more money) so maybe next week I'll take some more scrubs pics?

Can't you tell my cat missed me?  Cleo won't leave me alone when I come home from work until I stop whatever I'm doing and give her my undivided attention for at least 10 minutes....

Monday, Monday.

Photos Taken by My Tripod

What:  Tee - Apt. 9; Jacket - Lane Bryant; Boot Cut Jeans - Lane Bryant; Pumps - Lane Bryant; Necklace - The Express; Bracelet - Lane Bryant

When:  Monday, December 20, 2011

Where:  Work, then home to help my son with his homework, cook breakfast for dinner (I love breakfast food), and put up the Christmas lights outside (along with massive amounts of laundry - ugh).

Just another casual outfit for Monday.  I usually try to plan out my outfit for the day the night before.  But I spent Sunday being lazy, watching football, and catching up on Dexter.  So as I was blow drying my hair this morning, this outfit, that I have worn before but never blogged about, popped in my head.  Since it's Monday, I was totally cool with going with an easy look.

This necklace was a birthday gift one of my nursing school classmates gave me this summer.  I LOVE the color (it's green - yo!)  You can also see my cool crackled nails peaking in the corner.  I worked on those Sunday night and I am quite happy with how they turned out!  The bracelet is an oldie of mine.  I seriously have owned this longer than my son has been alive!  But it never seems to go out of style.  The nude shoes are kind of recent purchase for me.  I liked this pair because A. They're wide widths, making them very comfortable, and B.  I really dug the patent "leather" look of them.  I've worn them in previous outfit posts.  They are one of my favorite purchases this year.

Man, maybe it's because I slept in late Sunday, but I could not get to sleep Sunday night.  This made for a very tired Monday...  Don't you just hate that?  I made it through the day though.  Somehow.  Onward to the weekend!  A friend of ours is getting married this Saturday and Matt is in the wedding (along with my son being an usher).  I'm excited about the fun weekend ahead.  Now...  Just gotta figure out what I'm going to wear!

Almost Turkey Day

Pictures Taken by My Tripod

When:  Wednesday, November 23, 2011

What:  Black drop-waist dress; Navy, White & Black sheer tunic; Navy 3/4 sleeve jacket; Black tights; Black knee-high boots; Pearl necklace.

Where:  Work, home to make dinner, and then game night with a few beers and a couple of friends.

YAY!  Pictures outside!  There was no rain yesterday, so I took my tripod and camera outside in the backyard.

This look is something I've been doing with a few of my dresses to get an extra mile out of them, I wear the dress with a top so the dress looks like a skirt!  It's like an instant doubling of your wardrobe!  Try it and see what new looks you can come up with!

They aren't featured here, but I wore my new, favorite knee-high boots again with this outfit.  This sheer tunic is one of my favorites as well.  I love both the color and the patterns and wearing it over a dress means I don't have to wear a cami!  The long pearl necklace was another purchase from Premier Design many years ago.  I like this pearl necklace because the style doesn't make me feel like an old lady.  Also, because it's so long, I can wear it as shown, or a little longer when making it only two strands.

So as I mentioned before, last night we had a game night.  You'll come to learn that I'm a bit of a nerd.  A few of my friends really like to play the nerdy comic book store games (myself included).  Last night we played the fairly new Lord of the Rings living card game.  It's a really neat game where all players actually play together to get through quests, defend, and attack against monsters.  Other favorites of ours are Settler's of Catan, Game of Thrones LCG, Chrononauts, Arkham Horror and many more!  These games are an awesome way to spend an evening in with friends, especially in the winter when the weather gets crappy!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  It's time for me to head to shower and get ready to visit the in-laws!

Since starting this blog (obviously) not too long ago, these are the different ways I have worn the black drop-waist dress.

The Sun Comes Out

My first few posts are going to be mini posts. I will be sharing what the Internet already knows, my pics from Chictopia. In the future, I will be giving a much more detailed look at the clothes I am wearing for the day.

When: Wednesday, November 16, 2011

What: Turquoise beaded tunic; Brown cardigan; Navy jeggings; Animal print belt; Bronze heels; Bronze bag.

Where: Work and more homework... (My life is FULL of fun at the moment...)

I. Love. Jeggings. There I said it. I was so nervous about buying them and actually wearing them! I have found with the right top (just long enough to cover the bum) I feel really comfortable and stylish. This is another easy-breezy outfit! And I also like my added touch of the oh-so-trendy animal print!

Where: Work and out to dinner with my men (with the usual homework in between).

This was my second attempt at this dress, this time with tights. I am (again) wearing a green cardigan but this one is much shorter. I LOVE this outfit. One of my favorites! It's just a fun look! Can't you tell how happy I am in the pic?

When:  Saturday, September 10, 2011

What:  Navy t-shirt dress with corded belt; Green short-sleeve cardigan; Deep purple studded flats; Gold and Navy football tailgating necklaces.

Where:  First Annual DCFD (Drunken College Football Day) at my house.

(A little background, my husband graduated from Notre Dame, so every Saturday during college football season I have a houseful of college football enthusiasts).

This outfit was like my "Hey people - I'm going to be doing something slightly different now!"  While everyone else is in jeans and t-shirts, I upped the fashion factor that day.  I also managed to stay mostly within the team's colors.  I felt great all day and I knew this was the start of something good.
