Weekly Recap in Photos

This past week has been pretty void of excitement.  It's all picture #1's fault.  But finger's crossed and the gods willing, I won't be doing that again for a long time after Monday!  So - later this week I'll have either a really happy post, or an onthebrinkoflosingit post!  Happy thoughts!

1. Monday, December 28: Study, answer questions, study, more practice tests...  This is my life.  But hopefully for not much longer!  //  2. Tuesday, December 29:  It was my son's turn to bring in a snack to share for the Cub Scout Den Meeting.  Being a scout, I thought it would be better if he brought something in he actually made, so I helped him make frosted sugar cookies.  He did all the decorating.  //  3. Tuesday, December 29: Along with making cookies, I also made a casserole with leftover Thanksgiving turkey.  It was really easy to throw together and super tasty as well!  Pretty simple - onions, garlic, a can of cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and turkey poured on a bed of noodles, topped with french fried onions!  20 minutes in the oven and we were ready to eat!

1. Thursday, December 1: I was studying on the couch in the living room and I got up to get a drink of water.  When I came back my cat Cleo had found a spot on the couch, laying right on top of some papers and notes...  She was keeping my papers warm I guess?  //  2.  Thursday, December 1: I've been wearing glasses since I was in 5th grade.  That was a long time ago!  Somehow, I walked out of the house without my glasses on Thursday!  I didn't notice till I was about halfway to work!  Luckily I have prescription sunglasses that I keep in my purse all of the time.  Soooo...  I wore my sunglasses all day at work till I got home that afternoon...  Yeah - hopefully no one thought that I was hungover!

  1. I have no idea how to make casserole... But I love french fried onions! I know how to make green bean casserole, but for some reason, I'm always unsure when it involves other items. I know, it makes me sound stupid, but because I didn't grow up in the States, I don't actually know what casserole is supposed to taste like!

Hey Laura - You basically cannot mess up with casseroles. What kind of foods do you prefer? I could send you a couple of easy recipes?

Thanks Sabrina! It was quite tasty too! I'm thinking I'll buy a turkey more often just to make this with the left overs! YUM-O!

Thanks for stopping by Megan. Our cat was actually a stray that pretty much adopted us. It was last February. She was hanging out on our front porch for a couple of days, my son started to feed her, and then snow started following... So I took her to the vet the next day and she's been a lovely addition to the family ever since!

  7. My cat used to lay directly on top of all my papers when I was in grad school. And chew on my pen while I was trying to write. So I assumed it was her way of telling me it was break time :)
